Studies indicate that high attendance is linked to high achievement and that every day counts. We therefore encourage all students to make the most of the learning opportunities offered at school and to aim for a high attendance record in this next semester.
As VCE students work hard to complete SACs and Outcomes to the best of their ability, the school will support them with further study skills seminars run by the Elevate Education team. Seminars on the topics of “Time Management” and “ How to Ace your exams” will be held on Tuesday September 8 for students in Years 11 and 12. A cost of $10.00 will be charged to each student and permission forms will be sent home this week.
Revision lectures are currently being offered by private organisations such as “ Neap” and “tsfx”. Information brochures on exam revision lectures are available in the Hub.
Year 10 students are reminded that the permission forms and payment for the Driver’s Education program must be paid to the general office by September 2.
The Senior School House Leaders look forward to working with your children in order that they may participate in extra curricula activities beyond the classroom.

Keys Please Program
Good drivers aren’t born. They are made. And the best way to become a good driver is to get plenty of driving experience.
But sometimes, learning how to change gears, or even how to change lanes can seem a breeze compared with the challenge of getting your parents/guardians to hand over the car keys.
Keys Please can change that! The Keys Please student program covers:
Why 120 hours of driving practice?
Importance of the partnership between supervising driver (parent) and learner driver (student)
Stages of learning to drive
Staying safe on your P's
Resources that are available for Learner Drivers/Supervising Drivers
There is also an online parent/supervising driver resource to watch by going to www.vicroads.vic.gov.au and searching “Lessons from the Road”.
Scoresby Secondary College is hosting a Keys Please Student session on Tuesday 8 September 2015 during the extended home group program, for all year 10 students.

Knox City Council Young Leaders Program
Kristy Pritchard, Calista Jensen, Hendrica Hellemons, Ivory Eerden, Frazer Spence and Luke Dodson, from Year 10, were recently selected to participate in the Young Leaders Program at the Knox City Council.
This experiential training program, which has been running for over 18 years, identifies and nurtures tomorrow’s leaders from among today’s local students.
Our students were guided through five days of skill development and confidence building, receiving training in communication, teamwork, public speaking and styles of leadership.
The program culminated in a presentation night, which was conducted by the participants in front of family members.
