Colgate Community Garden Challenge

The Colgate Community Garden Challenge is up and running!

At our final school assembly for the term Jack Howe and Tamara Williams informed the college community about the challenge that VCAL have signed up for, how to participate and the benefits for our college.

The competition asks that we send 2kg bags of our oral waste to Terracycle, for recycling.  Every 2kg bag earn us 10 garden points.  By earning points, our school will be in the running to receive one of five community garden set ups, each worth over $7000. This includes: 3 garden beds, 2 custom made benches, one rubbish bin, one paddle sign and a $500 Bunnings Warehouse gift voucher. All this could assist in our quest to becoming a sustainable school.  Furthermore, it is our goal that students create their own sustainable vegetable garden, and for the produce grown, to be used in Home Economics classes.

VCAL need your support!

To participate, they are asking that teachers, parents and students bring their empty toothpaste tubes, floss containers and toothbrushes and place them in the box provided at the General Office.

Another way to help is by visiting the link below and voting for our school. Every vote counts so feel free to share this link and information with your friends and/or neighbours.

Entries close Wednesday 31 October  2018.
