Maria Christoforou

Maria Christoforou joined Scoresby Secondary College as a teacher of junior and VCE English, and literacy at the start of 2018.

Following the completion of her under-graduate studies at Deakin University, and having obtained her double degree in Secondary Teaching (English and Psychology) and of the Arts, Maria spent the following year travelling to, and around the South Pacific. In the future, Maria aspires to travel around Europe, visiting family in Cyprus, as well as exploring the Greek islands, Italy, and France.

After travelling the South Pacific, Maria spent some time working as a casual relief teacher at Salesian College, Chadstone.

Maria’s background is Greek/Cypriot, and she has spent her years learning and practising the traditional ways, to connect and explore with her culture. Alongside this, Maria enjoys training and participating in recreational exercise and training at the gym. 

To inspire, motivate, and assist individuals in their learning, is something that has always resided within Maria. Now, with this opportunity at Scoresby Secondary College, Maria looks forward to achieving student excellence, while offering support, guidance, and exciting learning opportunities for the students, here, at the college.

Knowing and believing that students are capable of immeasurable feats, she is excited for her journey, as well as her students’ journeys.
