Middle School News

Mathematics

Over the past week we have had fun exploring different kinds of measurements. We have looked at how we can measure length  using informal and formal units. Middle school had a challenge to create a paper plane and use different informal measures to find the distance that their planes traveled.

Camp Update

We are less than two weeks away from Middle School Camp!! Time is flying. Can you please make sure you have returned your medical forms ASAP as we need to let the camp know any dietary requirements in advance. If you need a new copy of the medical form, please see Miss May.

Beck Hambly will be looking after medication after camp. She will be available to chat to on Monday (18th March) in the morning  and on the morning we leave.

Students will be bringing home camp lists in the next couple of days.

Homework

Just a reminder about homework. Each week the homework expectation is:

-30 minutes of home reading daily

-Using essential assessments: Uncompleted My Numeracy Activities and Sunset Maths 2-3 times a week

-Spelling Words

-Students have a writing task sheet in their books, they need to choose one task a week.

Home work books need to be brought back to school every Wednesday ready for Thursday.

Any questions in regards to homework, please see Mr Roscoe.

Team work

It has been great to see Middle School coming together as a team. We have enjoyed having some opportunities to work as a whole year level.  These times provide the opportunity for students demonstrate our school values. Today during Middle sport they all showed excellence, resilience and respect!
