I understand how to be a successful learner

Goal setting

#kickinggoals #aiminghigh

Strengthening learning through goal setting will continue to be a focus in Semester 1 2018. Children continue to set personal achievable goals which they are constantly reflecting on and they collect evidence to show their progress and achievement.  Children will collect evidence to show how they have met their goal and be accountable for actioning self, peer and adult feedback to aim high and be the best they can be.

Children will set small and achievable goals based around our Lockleys North values and the Keys to Success (organisation, getting along, resilience, persistence, confidence).  These form the building blocks for success in  all learning areas and are fundamental to students aiming high. Mellor children will also set small personal goals in each curriculum area.

Learning Intentions and Success Criteria

#Iamsuccessful

Learning Intentions are descriptions of what we should know, understand and be able to do during our learning. Learning intentions help teachers and ourselves to make sure we are on the right track and to seek feedback and assess our achievement.

Success criteria detail whether, and how well, we have met the learning intentions.

They give us step by step instructions about how we can be successful in our learning.

Learning intentions and success criteria help me to...

-know what I am going to learn and why

-check if my understanding of the task is on track

and I am working towards achieving my goals

-understand what improvement looks like.

Learning Intention: To be able to work as a team

Success Criteria: Move the hoop around the circle without breaking the chain
