Capital Works Update
As you may be aware, in the 2021-22 State Budget, the Victorian Government invested more than $6 million to create an additional 250 places for local students at our school.
Whilst this funding was warmly received, it was discovered early into the project’s design phase that additional funding would be needed to meet our growing enrolment demand.
I am pleased to announce that a further $10 million has now been allocated to the project to create an additional 250 places for local students. This is an exciting time for our school community.
The next steps from here are:
- A review of our masterplan will be completed to ensure it reflects the works now achievable through the additional funding – updates will be made as required.
- The project will then undergo a detailed planning and tender stage so that an appropriate builder is appointed.
- Designs for the building will then be released to our school community, followed by construction work beginning – anticipated for mid-year 2024, with a revised forecast completion date of term 4, 2025.
College Council have been briefed by the VSBA about this exciting project. A planning team will be established that will include a school council representative. Staff will have significant input into the design of the learning spaces and students will also have an opportunity to have their voice heard.
I will continue to update you as we reach each project milestone. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss or have any wonderings.

Mid-Year Exams
During Week 7 and 8 of this term, students in Years 10 and 11 as well as 9 SEAL will sit end-of-semester examinations. Some exams will be in the VCE Centre (rooms 201-203), others will be in the LC. Please check times and locations carefully. It takes a considerable amount of time to get 100 students settled in an exam room, so students will need to be ready 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Road closures on both Glenhuntly Rd and Neerim Rd will impact travel times. Please plan accordingly, as additional time will not be provided to students who are late.
Only permitted items may be brought into exam rooms. Water bottles and pencil cases must be clear plastic with no labels. No phones or other electronics are allowed in exam rooms.
We encourage students to prepare for their exams by keeping up-to-date with their coursework (classwork and homework), revising work from earlier in the semester and engaging with revision materials provided by their teachers, and by seeking assistance from their teachers with any concepts or skills they do not fully understand.
Should your child have any queries or concerns about the exams, please encourage them to speak to their classroom teachers or to their year level coordinator.
