SPECIAL PROVISION ADVICE SLIPS

Students who have applied for a VCAA Special Provision will be provided with the outcomes for these applications within the next two weeks. 

 

The VCAA are currently in the processes of assessing these applications.

VCE SUNRAYSIA BALL

The 2023 VCE Sunraysia Ball will be held on Friday June 16 at Club da Vinci from 7:30pm – 11:00pm. 

 

Tickets are $40 and are available from the student office from Thursday May 18. Tickets are not available to be purchased during class time including Academe or study periods. Tickets are NOT available at the door so please ensure you have purchased these prior to the event. 

 

Upon arrival, photo ID and your ticket must be presented. 

 

Under no circumstances will alcohol, smoking or vaping be permitted. All college rules regarding behaviour apply. Random checks will be made to ensure no alcohol is brought into the venue.

VCE GAT EXAM 2023

All students studying a VCE and VCE VM subject will be required to complete the VCAA General Achievement Test (GAT) on Thursday June 15. Please note there are no scheduled classes for Year 11 and 12 VCE or VCE VM students on this day. 

 

The GAT is split into two sections.  Section A will assess literacy and numeracy skills, and Section B will assess skills in Mathematics, Science, Technology, the Arts and Humanities, with an increased focus on critical and creative thinking skills.  Please note the following exam times: 

  • Section A - 9.00am to 11.15am - All VCE & VCE VM students (including accelerated and scored VET) 
  • Section B - 1.15pm to 3.00pm   - VCE or scored VCE VET Unit 3 – 4 sequence (VM Students not required)
  • A detailed timetable can be accessed via the attached link

VCE students will commence the GAT at 9.00am and conclude at 3.00pm. VCE VM students will commence the GAT at 9.00am and conclude at 11.15am.  All students are expected to arrive at the college and assemble in front of the library no later than 8.30am for an exam briefing and attendance roll mark.  At the conclusion of Exam A, students are welcome to utilise the library and common room for study.  Lunch will be provided following Section A of the GAT exam. 

 

When available, all eligible students will be provided a GAT brochure which details the logistics and expectations of completing this exam.If students would like to complete the previous year exam, a copy of the 2022 GAT will be available from the library. Once completed please submit this to Mr Brown for correction.  Alternatively, you can visit the VCAA website to access question books and answers.

IMPORTANT DATES

Student VTAC admission centre accounts can be opened from July 31. Ms Dimasi will hold information sessions closer to the date for both students and family members who may wish to be involved.
