We are having a very busy term in 3-4TG! 

Maths: Location and Mapping

Our latest Maths learning area has been “Location and Mapping”. We have learned about the many features of maps, such as compass roses, grid co-ordinates, legends/keys and scale. The students have explored fictional maps, as well as maps of real places such as the Melbourne Zoo. We have used Google Earth to explore familiar locations, such as our school, our home addresses, the MCG, Waverly Gardens shopping centre and places/towns around Victoria. 

The students followed an online tutorial to draw their own compass rose and were then challenged to design and create a map of their choosing: a theme park, zoo or playground. They were required to include elements learned about in class, such as a legend or key, a compass rose and grid co-ordinates. 

Class Mass:

Our class have been very busy preparing for our upcoming Class Mass which will be held on Friday the 2nd of June. Our mass focuses on PENTECOST, which we have been learning about in class. We are practising our readings, singing our selected songs with much enthusiasm (and volume!) and have created a very special Eucharist reflection. Leading the mass next week will coincide nicely with our current year-level learning, which focuses on identifying special moments in the celebration of Mass.
