Reconciliation Week and National Sorry Day

For the lead up to Reconciliation week and National Sorry Day, students have been busy making manna gum leaves. These leaves will be our students' contribution to the Maroondah Council's new tree display about "What does Reconciliation mean to you?"

The theme for Reconciliation Week 2023 is 'Be a voice for the generations', and this new art display provides local children and young people the opportunity to have their voices seen and heard.

Our amazing Dream Big teacher, Julie, has duplicated our student's leaves so we could have  have our very own tree in the school. Doesn't it look incredible!

Take-home reader program

Primary students have been enjoying the take-home reader program throughout term 2. Reading with children helps them to develop langue skills. It exposes them to new words

and ways of using language. Using your child's preferred method mode of communication or the Core Vocab board helps them develop skills to communicate on a wide range of topics.

Books are changed weekly; please send in your child's book bag Thursday to be changed and sent home Friday.

Happy reading!
