Our fabulous students
Rabbitohs Pre-Game Traditional Aboriginal Performance
We are thrilled to share the achievements of our talented students who recently took part in the pre-game entertainment at the Rabbitohs match. Clair Ward (Year 10), Olivia Johnson (Year 10), Victoria Johnson (Year 8), and Aimee Ward (Year 9) delivered a captivating performance of the traditional Brolga dance at Allianz Stadium.
The Brolga dance beautifully embodies the essence of ceremony, connection, and transformation, symbolising the bond between the human spirit and the spirit of the creature. Our students showcased their rich cultural heritage with grace and passion, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. We express our gratitude to the Aboriginal Coordinators and the Souths Cares team, whose support and dedication made this unforgettable experience possible for our talented performers. Their participation in this event is a testament to their hard work, and the invaluable support they receive from our school community.
Presentation for our students
Year 9 and Year10 students participated in an informative session delivered by our Youth Engagement Officer from the NSW Police Force. The presentation provided students with essential knowledge to build respectful and maintain relationships at school and in the community. The session emphasised the importance of empathy and setting healthy boundaries in both online and offline interactions. Our students were made aware of potential online risks and taught strategies to protect their personal information, safeguard their digital footprint, and use social media responsibly.
As a school community, we remain steadfast in our commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for our students. We encourage parents and guardians to reinforce the lessons learned during this presentation by engaging in open and ongoing conversations with their children about respectful relationships and responsible digital citizenship.
Year 10 Fast Forward University Day
Our Year 10 students attended Western Sydney University earlier this term. Students had the opportunity to explore university facilities, hear from current students and take part in a number of tasks. Our students smashed out the teamwork elements on the day. It is wonderful to have a dedicated team providing our students with such great opportunities to develop their career aspirations and discover possible pathways to their goal.
