Magis report

It is always wonderful to witness our senior school students demonstrate our College values through their leadership and mentoring of our lower school students. Meg Derbyshire and Asha Paton (Year 10) visited one of our Year 7 Magis Option classes earlier this week, to offer advice and encouragement to students as they progress through the Magis course. Meg and Asha are wonderful role models for our students and the Year 7s relished the opportunity to interact with these Magis leaders.

Was great to so many students coming to support their friends in Round 2 of our College Chess Tournament. Well done to all students who took part and congratulations to those who have progressed to the next round. Monday’s fixtures are as follows:

  • Ewan Fisher vs Isaac Nikoloski
  • Joshua Standen vs James Mitchell
  • Joshua Williams vs Thomas Hudson
  • Robbie Douglass vs Matthew Gardner

Special thanks to Mr Connellan, our Chess Club Coordinator.

Congratulations to our World Scholars Teams who competed in the Perth Round of the World Scholars Cup at Aquinas College last Friday and at Sacred Heart College on Saturday. Our teams researched, discussed, and debated topics such as science, art, music, history, literature, and much more. Their outstanding achievements were recognized in the Closing Ceremony, where our students won gold and silver medals, along with Champion Scholar prizes, in a wide range of categories. Their superb effort means that they have qualified for the Global Rounds. An outstanding achievement!

For more information, please contact the Magis Coordinator.
