ACMI

On Tuesday October 11th, the two 3/4 classes went on a excursion to the Australian Centre for the Moving Image [ ACMI ]. ACMI is in Melbourne city. The two classes got to ACMI by train.

We had to wait a little bit because another school got there before them. Once they were able to come into ACMI they met three people whose jobs were to work at ACMI. Firstly the classes sat down and one of the three people told and asked things about ACMI. After she had finished talking it was time to go into ACMI, but first the classes had to check if their discs worked [ the disc is a part of a chip so that if you wanted to save something from ACMI that you thought was interesting you could save it and bring it home.] After that the classes were ready to go in.

Once they got in they saw a lot of cool things like video games, costumes [from Thor Love And Thunder], The cuphead show [it’s basically a thing that spins around so fast that it looks like it is moving with flashing lights], a wheel that you could spin back and forth that would make the video go each way and my personal favourite ….the memory garden. The memory garden is a little place that you can go to in ACMI. When you get in the memory garden you will see all of these cylinders on the roof and the ground. There will be a space in the middle, put your hand in it, you will start to see a video. This video is of someone's memory. Some of them are when they got married or when they had a special picnic. The reason I love the memory garden is because when you see all of the videos on your hand it feels like you are holding the memories of many other people before you.

Overall the day was as exciting as being on a rollercoaster and had the same ups and downs as it too. We did a lot of different things and learnt things too. I can’t wait to make my movie.
