ST MARY'S COLLEGE GUNNEDAH TRANSITION TASTER DAY

Last Tuesday our Year 6 students enjoyed a day at St Mary’s Gunnedah for a secondary school experience accompanied by Mrs Katie Goddard. Special thanks to Mr Adam Mooney for driving the bus and transporting Sacred Heart and St Francis Xavier students to Gunnedah and returning children to both schools. Our students loved catching up with the friendships made in Canberra last week with the St Francis Xavier Students. Felicity, Hunter and Georgia participated in a variety of subjects including Science, Music and PE. St Mary’s provided a yummy lunch of pizza, juice and zooper doopers and we thank SMC also for making both schools and teachers feel very welcome on the day.

SMALL SCHOOLS PUBLIC SPEAKING

Congratulations to everyone involved in the organisation of the very successful Small Schools Public Speaking Competition held last Wednesday.

Sacred Heart School hosted this event that has been proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Boggabri for the past 26 years. Everyone greatly appreciates your continued support and commitment to the development of the speaking skills of our local students.

A huge thank you to our event co-ordinator, Miss Tahlia Morrissey who put in hours and hours of her own time to ensure that this annual event was a success. Well done!

To the staff of Sacred Heart, Boggabri Public School, Mullaley Public School and Curlewis Public School, many thanks for entering your students as without your support we would not be able to continue this amazing competition.

Congratulations to all of the students who participated on the day. The adjudicators and the Rotary members all commented how wonderfully everyone delivered their speeches and what a fantastic life skill their were developing. You can all be very proud of yourselves.
