COVID safety and management

As has often been the case during the Covid pandemic, information can be released in the media before the Department of Education (and schools!) are able to catch up.

The COVID safety and management guidelines that we were following at BNWPS at the end of term three still apply, until we are directed to do otherwise. This means that;

  • Families should inform the school if a student has tested positive. The school will then communicate the positive case, the relevant dates and the cohort to the community  through a Sentral notification.
  • It is still recommended that masks are worn by anyone over the age of eight in the  classroom.
  • It is still recommended that anyone who resides with a confirmed positive case should wear a mask when in public spaces such as schools,
  • It is still recommended that anyone who resides with a confirmed positive case tests regularly during the isolation time allocated to the positive case.  RATs are available from the school office should you require them

Recent changes announced by the government around isolation requirements has had no impact on how schools are asked to operate as yet. If any updates are announced for schools, we will communicate these with the community.

As we have written many times; with families and the school working together, we have done a tremendous job so far of limiting the spread from our positive cases. Please remember to be kind to yourselves and others as we transition to this new way of living and working.
