Maths Student of the week
Leah Bower is our Maths Student of the week. Leah is studying General Maths. Her teacher, Mr Cybula said Leah has worked consistently all year. She has an enquiring mind and isn’t discouraged when she gets an answer incorrect. Instead, she strives for understanding and asks for help when needed. Leah is a perfect example of a student with a growth mindset. Leah’s work ethic and positive attitude have led to her achieving excellent results this year.
Mr Leslie asked Leah about why she has been successful in maths this year. Leah said she didn’t think she was really doing anything special. She said she just ensured she completed all the set work in class, including the Year 12 extension questions. Leah is willing to ask for help when needed and always studies in the lead up to assessment tasks. Leah is motivated by the goal of achieving a high ATAR score. This will allow her to to study dietetics at university.
