Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Today, all students had a 30 minute tennis clinic with coach, Geoff Hollow.  These clinics will continue in term 4 as a 6 week program.  As advertised, there will be a Community Tennis event on Sunday 2nd October from 11am-2pm.  For more information, please refer to our Community notices and/or the flyer sent home with students today.

On Tuesday our Year 3 & 4 students enjoyed a great day of cross country skiing.  Many thanks to Kathryn for her organisation and to all staff and volunteers for their support and providing our students with this opportunity.  Our thanks also to Mount Beauty Secondary College for their assistance with ski hire, Falls Creek XC for their help with lessons and Falls Creek Coaches for their support throughout both ski programs.

Tomorrow we will celebrate the end of term, with a casual dress day.  As we are still raising funds to sponsor a Koala, a gold coin donation would also be appreciated.  Families are reminded that as it is the last day of term, school will finish at the earlier time of 2.20pm.

Next term, students in Years 3-6 will have the opportunity to participate in the Martial Arts Therapy (MAT) program.  This extremely valuable program, focuses on building student resilience, confidence and positive self-talk and is being delivered with support from the School Focussed Youth Services.  The program will run over six weeks, commencing on Friday 7th October.

A reminder that on Friday the 7th October, the Division Athletics will be held in Albury.  (Back up day Monday 10th October).  Transport and supervision at this event is the responsibility of the parent/carer.  Information about this event has been sent home with eligible students.  Please confirm attendance by 2pm tomorrow, if you have not already done so.

A reminder to all families that the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey closes tomorrow.  If you haven't done so already,  please take the time to complete this survey.

As previously advised, the Australian Dental Health visit has been rescheduled to take place for the first week of term 4. Families who returned their forms earlier in the year, do not need to do anything.  If for any reason you wish to withdraw consent, please contact the office asap.

As we finish another term, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all staff for their ongoing dedication to our students and their learning. Our thanks to all our families for their continued support and to the many volunteers that have supported learning in and outside the classroom.  Thank you also to all the Red Cross volunteers for their support in providing Breakfast Club and fruit platters for the classroom.  I hope you all enjoy a wonderful term break and look forward to seeing you after the break.
