Updated COVID safety and management

Earlier this week, we received notification of some new guidelines around the management of COVID in schools. The majority of the advice remains the same, but just for a refresher;

  • It is strongly recommended that any student who tests positive to COVID-19 should stay home and isolate for five days, and longer than the five days if they continue to be symptomatic. Please let the school know if a student has tested positive. Students who are symptomatic but have not tested positive should also stay at home until their symptoms have ceased.
  • If a student becomes symptomatic at school, we will call families and ask for the child to be picked up, and we recommend that the student takes a RAT. We have RATs available from the office if any family requires them.
  • Students whose families wish them to wear a face mask will be supported to do so. The school still has face masks available for any members of our community who require one. The Department of Health recommends that masks should be worn by any person who is a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 when leaving home.

If you have any questions about the management of COVID at school, please do not hesitate to contact the front office.
