Medication at School

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

All medication due to expire before March 2023 will be sent home with your child on the last day of the term. If your child is going to be absent on the last day of school please contact the front office to arrange the collection of any medication. 

All student medication will need to be returned when school resumes to Student Services at the Front Office, along with up-to-date medication agreements, anaphylaxis and or asthma care plans.

It is a requirement from the Department for Education that all health care plans are reviewed at least every 12 months or sooner if there is a change in condition or care.

If your child requires a new care plan, these can be accessed electronically from the department’s internet www.education.sa.gov.au or from our Front Office.

If your child no longer requires health support at school please advise us in writing to dl.1858.info@schools.sa.edu.au and in the Subject Field ‘Attention Deb Thompson’ so that we can remove it from our records. Please note that once the medical condition is removed from your child’s records, standard first aid practices will be used should a medical emergency arise.

Controlled Medication

Parents of students with controlled drugs at school will be advised to come to the Front Office to collect and sign for their child’s medication. This medication will not be able to be given to your child to bring home.

New Processes for Medication for 2023

All exchanges involving controlled drugs between the school & parents must be recorded on our controlled drugs register. When controlled drugs are delivered to Greenwith Primary School, and given back to the parent or guardian, parents must sign our controlled drugs register.
