Year 12 Manresa
The Year 12s have had to learn how to wait this year, and after a term’s delay, the Year 12 Manresa Retreat took place this week. The retreat started on Sunday evening with a Mass and a communal 'Christmas in July' feast. This enabled the theme, 'he called me by name' to be established and for the students to meet their groups and break the ice for the next two days. On Monday morning the students traveled to the Swan Valley Adventure Camp and engaged in a range of activities including physical challenges, mask making, and a reflection on their 'road to life' thus far. Mr Henderson visited on Monday night and candidly shared his family story with the 12s. Throughout the retreat, the students reflected on their relationship with themselves, their family, and God.
The Year 12s had a wonderful experience and Manresa gave them a chance to pause and reflect at a critical time of Year 12 and build a great sense of community and cohesion within the group. A big thanks goes out to all the staff who volunteered their time to make the experience possible for the Year 12s.

Year 11 Politics & Law
Year 11 Politics & Law students finished the week reinforcing their knowledge of preferential voting by casting a vote in a Mock Election. Students demonstrated their understanding of how to fill in a ballot for the House of Representatives; distinguished between formal and informal votes; calculated the quota; and distributed preferences. As was the case for many electorates in the 2022 federal election, no-one reached the quota on primary votes, so that meant distributing ballots according to second and third preferences. Was a lot of fun!

Campion LifeLink Fundraiser
It has been a busy couple of weeks for Campion students as they worked hard to fundraise for LifeLink! The money raised will be greatly appreciated by the Church organisation, LifeLink which supports running professional services and caring support for people in need across Western Australia.
On Thursday 23 June, students took part in the event, ‘Around the World’. Campion students were encouraged to run or walk as many laps of the school colonnades, around the chapel and library courtyard as possible in 30 minutes, while completing the challenges on route, such as football, soccer and many more. There were six challenges, representing different countries, which students could raise extra money for by competing in. They were sponsored by family and friends for every lap then ran or challenge they completed.
Thank you so much to all Campion families for your generous efforts, it has been very much appreciated in this trying year. We have raised over $2000, which has been a great achievement and effort as its helping those less fortunate than ourselves. This is a huge credit to those in campion, so well done and a massive thankyou to all campion supporters and members!

Year 12 student Emily Elkington was pick number 43 to The West Coast Eagles. A big congratulations to Emily on this amazing achievement. She has had a very busy year balancing her ATAR studies along with the high demands of football. This is a wonderful reward for all her hard work.
