Term 1 - Week 10- OSHC News

My Time Our Place: There have been a few changes in the OSHC room in regards to making the OSHC room more environmentally friendly. The children have shown interest in these changes and are excited to know that they are helping the environment. The children enjoyed creating posters to stick on our new bins to help other children know what goes into each bin.

This fortnight the children also removed all of the summer produce and cleaned out the OSHC garden. Once the garden beds had been cleaned the children and an educator had fun planting a variety of different veggies and herbs. We look forward for the cooler weather to be able to see our new produce flourish.

Inside the children have continued to participate in free choice arts and crafts and enjoy using a variety of mediums such as recycled boxes, feathers and coloured paper.

Vac-Care Booklets: The Vacation Care booklet for the April School holidays is now available online, from the OSHC room, the front office and has been emailed to all families. Ensure you return your booking form as soon as possible as bookings close on the 5th April.

Paperless Service: The service strives to continually improve and has decided to reduce the amount of paper used. This means that  there will be changes to signing in and out children and all invoices will be received via email. It is imperative that all parents fill out and return a form with their updated email addresses and contact numbers in order to complete this transition. Forms will be available from the OSHC room and will be sent via email and post to all parents. We are endeavouring to have all online communications ready by Term 2. During the transition process paper copies will still be available from the OSHC room.

Receptions: Please be aware that the Reception children will no longer be collected from their classrooms as of Term 2. The reception teachers will be informed of this and will remind their students that they need to attend OSHC. Educators will be aware of which reception children are expected to attend that day and will follow up any absentees past 3:15pm.

Medications: If your child requires medication please ensure that you have provided an action plan as well as the medication (asthma pump, epipen etc.) to the service. It is vital that we have access to your child’s medication at our service whilst your child is attending.

Hats: As part of our sun safety policy children will be required to wear a hat all year.

Absentees: A reminder to all parents and caregivers to contact the service on 8443 5308 if their child(ren) are no longer attending their sessions or have been collected early from school.

Active After School: If your child is going to attend an after school activity please notify the service in advance. If our Educators have not been notified by parents/caregivers the children will be unable to leave the service.

Dietary Requirements: At our service we aim to cater to children’s needs as much as possible, however, if your child has specific dietary requirements or does not like the food programmed for the day please pack an alternative snack or drop off food alternatives at the service.

Thank you
