Foundation (Prep)

Dear Prep C families,

I am Maddy! So nice to meet you! The students call me Miss Dowel.

We have had a wonderful end to Terms 2, I am so excited to meet you all and work alongside Mrs. Callaway for Term 3! 

I have had a wonderful week and a half with Prep C, getting to know them and them getting to know me!

In Literacy this week:

We have been focusing on the letter 'Oo' this week and the sound 'or' - as in horse.

We have also been looking at what rhyming words are and talking about critical thinking questions when speaking and listening on the mat.

In Maths this week:

We have been looking at 'doubles' this week using dice, and 'ordinal numbers', counting forward by 1's and 10's to 100. We also learned about some of the differences between a 2D and a 3D shape, and found some 3D shapes around our classroom.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we will be celebrating the children’s first 100 Days of School on Friday the 22nd of July (which is the second week of Term 3).

There will be some fun activities planned for the day. Students are invited to dress up but there is certainly no pressure if your child doesn’t feel comfortable. Please see the attached link for some ideas on costumes.
