Inter-school sport grand finals

Congratulations to our football team who convincingly won their grand final yesterday and commiserations to out netball A team who lost by just two points (after losing to the same team by 12 points last week).

Both teams played with great teamwork and sportsmanship and made our school proud. Well done Creekers!

Lunch canteen

I'm pleased to announce that we are in discussions with two local cafes about providing lunch service to our school.

Orders will be made and paid for using an app and the food will be delivered to school at lunchtime. You will be able to choose from a different menu and cafe depending on the day of the week.

One of the most common requests we've had is for hot food...and both the menus from both cafes will include hot food!

We hope to have this service available very early in term 3.

School Disco

The school disco was a huge success with plenty of dancing, singing and some huge smiles. I also say a few rather sleeping-looking preps being carried home - it must have been quite a tiring experience for them (but they still had smiles on their sleepy faces).

Thank-you to all our parent and carer volunteers and also to the teachers that helped out. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of people who offered to help out and it's great to be able to hold these events again and welcome families back in to our school.

We're always looking for ways to improve our events - if you have any ideas then please get in touch. I've already had a suggestion that we consider a quieter area or perhaps a silent disco room for those students who may find the noise and lights of the main disco a little overwhelming. I think this is a great idea and something we will definitely look at for our next disco to be held during term 4.

The end of term 2

It seems like the end of term has come so quickly and yet when I look back, there are so many great memories.

A few highlights:

  • Grade 3/4 camp at Philip Island!
  • Two 5/6 inter-school sports teams making their grand finals with the boys' football team winning theirs.
  • Education Week's math afternoon and open day.
  • School, district, division and regional cross-country carnivals.
  • Our in-person story times for 3 and 4 year olds. It doesn't seem that long ago we were holding them virtually.
  • Kilometre club with lots of enthusiastic runners and the mornings being run by our grade 6 leaders.
  • Natasha Rankin day where we wore orange to brighten our day and remember the warmth, sunshine, determination and joy that Miss Rankin brought to our school and our lives.
  • The return of the chickens to Cluckingham Palace.
  • And plenty more...it's been a busy and event-filled term and I'm sure we're all looking forward to term 3...after two weeks to rest up of course.

Enjoy your weekend and the school holidays,
