Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

What a busy week it has been! With the Monday public holiday this week, our teachers have been squeezing five days learning into four as we approach the end of term and our Student Reports and Student Led Conferences next week. I thank all our amazing teachers for the incredible dedication and hard work they put in every day to ensure each child in their care is given so many great learning opportunities.  A reminder that an email went out on Tuesday explaining the booking process for our Student Led Conferences. It would be such a great thing if we had 100% of our parents attending, especially after the disruptions over the past two years when we were not always allowed to be onsite.

Holy Trinity Feast Day (Sunday 12th June)

Next Tuesday at 10am we will be celebrating mass for the feast of the Holy Trinity. We would love to see as many parents as possible joining us for this special occassion.

The Feast of the Holy Trinity, also called Trinity Sunday, is a Christian feast in honour of the Trinity, celebrated in Western liturgical churches on the Sunday following Pentecost (the 50th day after Easter).

Staffing Update

As we come to the end of Semester One I would like to announce a few changes in our staffing for the remainder of the year.

Firstly I would like to congratulate Ms Steph who has been one of our amazing LSO's for the past few years. Steph has recently graduated from Melbourne University with her Masters in Teaching and is now heading off on an exciting journey to Vietnam where she will begin her teaching career working at many different schools in Vietnam. ( I am sure she would love to hear from some of our wonderful Vietnamese families if they have any great tips, suggestions or contacts to give her.  slee@tcs.catholic.edu.au

We have already been able to employ Ms Alexandra Bell who will join us as our new LSO and work with Ms Rebecca and her Prep class.

Mr Yang our Mandarin teacher will also be leaving us at the end of the Term 2 to begin full time employment at Mentone Grammar School where he has been working part time. Whilst Mr Yang is extremely sad to be leaving us we congratulate him and wish him the very best for the future. Mr Yang's replacement will be Mr Kyle Su who is a very experienced Mandarin teacher and comes highly recommended by Mr Yang. I know he will be a great addition to our Trinity Specialist Team. Mr Su is also a professional Hip Hop dancer and is looking forward to helping out with some of the choreography for our school concert next term.

Sadly we will also be farewelling Ms Baressi at the end of the term. Ms Baressi has made a difficult decision to finish at Trinity earlier than she had planned, however a study opportunity has come up for her which she hopes will be the beginning of a new chapter in her professional career. Whilst Ms Baressi has been with us for a very short time I am sure you will join me in thanking her for her dedicated work with the Year 1/2s and the knowledge and insights she has shared in her time here. Fortunately we have found a suitable replacement and recently employed Ms Madison Brown who is a very experienced classroom teacher having taught Prep and most recently a Year 1/2 class at St Josephs in Sorrento. Ms Brown has recently moved to Richmond and is extremely excited about taking over the Year 1/2 Class from the beginning of Term 3.

Prayer:  For the Holy Trinity

Glory be to the Father, Who by His almighty power and love created me, making me in the image and likeness of God.
Glory be to the Son, Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from sin, and opened for me the gates of heaven. Glory be to the Holy Spirit, Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism, and continues to sanctify me by the graces I receive daily from His bounty. Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity, now and forever. Amen

Student Safety

A reminder again to please be aware of our students' safety at pick up and drop off times. If parents are stopping on the opposite side of Kent street could I please ask that you accompany your children across the road so that they are not crossing by themselves.

SPS Speech Box

This speech box looks at vocabulary development.  We hope you find it useful and informative…maybe even hilarious.

Photographer:

As you may recall, last week we had planned to have a photoghrapher attending to take some fresh new photos for our school website and other marketing material. Unfortunately he was unable to come out, however, he is now re-scheduled for next Tuesday 21st. Most of the photos he will take will be to capture children in the new school uniform. So, if we can please ensure all children who have the new school uniform and school shoes are dressed accordingly that would be great.

Student Leadership

Our current SRC class leaders will be changing over in semester 2. We thank all our Semester One Leaders who have done an amazing job working with Ms Antonella and their class teachers to ensure all our students have a say in their learning and our school environment.

Semester 2 class leaders will be presented with badges at Monday morning assembly in week one next term. Photos will be taken next term.

All semester one class leaders will still be part of the SRC and can wear their badge and attend meetings.

2023 Enrolments: Spread the word!

Word of Mouth.

Thank you so much to all those parents from Year 1 to Year 6 who have completed the Google Form below.  Having your say really does help inform our planning, especially in regard to the important area of school enrolments and marketing.
