Year 8
Year 8
A big congratulations to our Year 8 cohort who have now completed their first ever full semester of face-to-face high school learning.
Term Two saw a number of our students achieve success through Cross Country, Athletics and State Aerobics Championships. Students have also taken part in school football, netball, soccer and badminton this term.
Term Two has seen our Year 8’s study Medieval History in Humanities. The students showed lots of enthusiasm and creativity and produced some fantastic models. 8A also took part in a Medieval Castle battle where they were required to plan and design an attack on a castle and defence of their own castle. They then went into battle with one another.
Science saw our Year 8’s study plant and animal cells where they were required to design and label a 3D model of either cell. They also discovered how to learn through using microscopes.
A number of classes embarked on their first taste of Secondary school cooking using the design process to create and produce their own pizza scrolls. PE is still a favourite with a number of classes rotating through minor games, swimming and table tennis.
Our Year 8’s have also been involved in a number of different programs including our Strength program, MPower, Drumbeat and Hands on Learning.
Well Done Year 8, what a great first semester for 2022.
