Celebrating our outstanding Ones!
We have started to learn about writing a persuasive piece by stating an argument, supported by a reason. As a class, we read ‘Animals should definitely not wear clothing’. We then wrote our own page to add to the book, stating what animal shouldn’t wear clothing and why. Pretty impressive for our first try!
We have also been revising numbers, looking at place value – recognising 2-digit numbers, and putting numbers in order from smallest to largest. Here we are playing a game, ‘Race to 120’ – we had to say the correct number or we had to go back to the start! We have so much fun learning through playing games!
IB completed their first persuasive writing piece this week. What is better? Hot or cold weather? Below is an example of why cold weather is the best weather!
IB spent time this week analysing the 120 number chart - looking at forwards and backwards counting patterns, starting from various positions, discussing the sequence and value of each number.
We all enjoyed a game of Race to 120.
We have started our unit on persuasive texts and enjoyed reading the story of "Hey, Little Ant!" Here are some of our pieces with reasons explaining whether the ant should be squished or saved.
