Science

This week in Science:
Foundation, Year 1 & 2
This term we are investigating different materials and how we can change them. We will explore how we can twist, stretch and bend everyday materials to physically change their shape. We will also look at which changes are reversible and which are not.
During our first lesson we had fun thinking about how we could change a piece of A4 paper to allow a student to ‘fit’ through the middle!
Samuel & Roy 2A – ‘inside’ a piece of paper
Changing a paperclip and a popsicle stick
Years 3/4 & 5/6
The upper year levels are delving into the world of consumer choices, and how we can use science to help us make consumer decisions.
Students are investigating different brands of paper towel and hand soaps. They are considering which aspects of the products are important for consumers when choosing products, and to test and rate this. They will aim to find the best brand, so stay tuned for the results!
