Performing Arts

This week in Performing Arts:
It has been a wonderful beginning to Performing Arts for Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 for the year. The enthusiasm and energy to begin was infectious!
The Foundation and Grade 1 students have enjoyed playing along with egg shakers to the beat of numerous songs. They particularly liked playing their instruments when the tempo of the music was very fast. So many happy shakers in Foundation and Grade 1!
The Grade 2 students have been expressing how music makes them feel. We created a favourite song list and I was intrigued by the large range of music genres. They also completed a drawing task, whereby they drew how the different styles of music made them feel. We practised our ‘lemon’ and ‘lion’ faces. ‘Lemon’ faces meaning, make your faces as small as you can, like you’re sucking a lemon and ‘Lion’, making them as large as you can, like a lion roaring. The faces were very amusing!
Grade 2's working on their Musical Drawing Group task.
