Grade 5/6 Students
Celebrating our fantastic Fives and sensational Sixes!
Welcome to Term 3. The students of 5/6A have been finishing up their class newspaper. I brought in my mother’s typewriter from the 1950’s and so we decided to have a go at typing something. The students found the process of typing in the “olden days” took a great deal of effort, as the keys on a manual typewriter were really hard to press, it was pretty noisy and they just did not know what to do to complete a manual carriage return to the left hand margain. They each had a turn manually typing their names. They were fascinated. I was surprised to find that my mother’s 1950’s typewriter still had a working ribbon and the students could actually read their typed names. I guess you might say that they don’t make things the way that they used to. Here are Toby and Sam having a go.
Interschool Sport commenced last Friday. The students came back from their sports just bursting to reflect on their day, so we did some planning on Friday afternoon and came in and wrote our recounts and different styles of reflection pieces on Monday of this week. Please have a read of the drafted and edited pieces submitted by Tabitha M, Toby M and Scarlett W. So fantastic to see such detailed reflections of their outings. I’m sure you will enjoy.
