Grade 3/4 Students

Celebrating our tremendous Threes and fabulous Fours !

3/4A - Mrs Bryant

3/4A have had a fantastic start to the term! In the first week, we reflected on our top 4 highlights from the holidays.

We’ve also been working hard to complete our mosaics. These were inspired by our 100 Years of Monty unit last term. After we encountered the mosaics in Were Street on our walking excursion, students were asked to create their own to represent what Montmorency Primary means to them.

3/4B - Miss Brook

In 3/4, we have been exploring the features of text and identifying what makes a text fiction or non-fiction.

3/4C - Mr Lewis

This term the students are learning about Information Texts. One of the activities involved visiting different information text samples to identify common language features.

Following the investigation into language features, students were asked to sequence information about Montmorency into the proper structure of an information text. This included identifying a classification, the body paragraphs and a conclusion.

3/4D - Mr Mitch

This week in reading, we explored contractions and the importance of using an apostrophe to link two words together. (Pictured is Stevie-Rose V’s poster).

In Numeracy, the students conducted their own investigations. They completed a class survey and gathered results in the form of a table and graph. (Pictured is Osha W’s work.)

3/4E - Miss Margarita

We have had a fantastic start to Term 3! Students were keen to show their timetables skills while playing a variety of games like "Skip Count Buzz" and "Guess My Number" to warmup for our Maths sessions.

As part of our celebration for 100 years of Monty PS, we have been working on a 3D model of important places in Montmorency, including the school, Were Street, Petrie Park, Montmorency Train Station and the Scout Hall. Students have enjoyed collaborating in groups and getting crafty!
