Grade 2 Students

Celebrating our terrific Twos!

2A - Mr E

Despite a bumpy start to Term 3, 2A is back on track! This week we have constructed monsters to help us write procedural texts, this has been lots of fun. We are continuing our work on subtraction and have discovered that we can use 'part, part, whole' to solve problems. In reading we have been using the somebody, wanted, but, so, then strategy to summaries stories. We have covered a lot and we are just getting started!

2B - Miss Bailey

2B has started this Term off learning all about Procedural Writing. This week we have put our creative skills to the test and have made our own paper plate monsters. We used this hands-on experience to help us write procedures about how you can make a paper plate monster. Next week, we look forward to using these monsters to create another procedural text about how we can sneak our monster into the office (watch out Mrs Worsam!)

Students have been learning how verbs can be ‘thinking, saying, doing, sensing and relating!’ We have also begun our Procedural Writing in class. We will be learning how to describe the steps for making a Paper Plate Monster! Below are examples of our work.
