From the Principal

Dear Killara Families,

Concerts, assessments, sports, charity events, student progress review meetings, tours, a car maintenance program and many other events have featured in our learning experiences throughout the final weeks of Term 2.

Looking forward, our aim for Term 3 will be to reset our high expectations in the areas of academia, behaviour, and wellbeing, and to continue our journey with explicit teaching as the pedagogical framework for our school.

Congratulations Ms Alison Gambino on your appointment as Principal at Pittwater High School

We congratulate Ms Alison Gambino on her appointment to the position of Principal at Pittwater High School. Ms Gambino is a visionary leader who has served our school community with the highest standard of care, dedication and determination, in order to provide our students and staff with the best educational experiences. Ms Gambino’s leadership has always ensured that students remain at the centre of all decision making around school operations. Before being appointed to the role of Deputy Principal here at KHS, Ms Gambino was our Head Teacher of Mathematics. Ms Gambino has significantly contributed towards strengthening our school’s work in the areas of teacher professional learning and curriculum management. Our entire school community wishes Ms Gambino the very best for the next stage of her career. We know that Pittwater High School has gained an insightful, caring and dedicated Principal. Farewell Ms Gambino, and thank you for your service to the students at Killara.

Welcome Craig Date, Deputy Principal

Killara High School’s new Deputy Principal, Mr Craig Date will commence in Term 3, and he will work alongside Years 11 and 12. Mr Date is a committed leader with immense experience in managing school operations. Mr Date joins our school from Narrabeen Sports High School and is looking forward to working with students, staff and families.

Thank you, P&C. Grounds Working Bee

On behalf of the Killara school community, I thank our dedicated P&C for their efforts last weekend during the working bee. Our A block gardens were refreshed with new plants, and our student benches were painted. This event not only improved the A block courtyard, but it also produced a strong sense of community spirit amongst the volunteers. We look forward to more community events of this nature.

Term 3 commences for all students on Tuesday 19 July

Have a wonderful school vacation. Please make time to rest, read and rejuvenate. I look forward to an exciting Term 3, full of fantastic learning experiences.
