We typically cut lime or lemon like this - in half.

Now let's say you squeeze juice only from one half and put the other one in the fridge.

When you remove it from the fridge it is hard so one of the tricks is to put it in the microwave for 10 seconds.

But why do that, not to mention dealing with trying to remove the slippery seeds ?

Instead, try this :

Take the lime and twist the knife into the end of it or if you have a skewer handy, poke that into the end of the lime or lemon.

Now just squeeze out the juice just how much you need. If you need more twist with a knife or skewer again.

Now you can put the lime back in the fridge - since the cut area is not exposed the lime or lemon will remain fresh.

As an Extra for Experts, roll it around on a chopping board before cutting or piercing it and it will be much easier to extract the juice, whatever method you then use.
