Keyboard Give Away

Attention parents! We have recently upgraded the school keyboards in the music room. As a result we have 3 old keyboards to give away for free! They each come with a carry bag, power adaptor and an instruction manual.

Enquire at the office, first come first served.

Regards Michael Murphy.

Division Swimming Championships - 11/03/2020

Congratulations to the 13 students who represented Surfside Primary School at the Division swimming Championships at Kardinia Aquatic Centre in Geelong. The students participated in a range of events that included freestyle, breastroke, backstroke, butterfly and relays. Our students performed at a high level with a number of 4th placings and podium finishes. A special mention to Sienna A and our 11 year old boys/mixed 4x50m freestyle relay (Ryan T, Addison L, Eva U & Reuban C) who have qualified for the Western Region Championships next term.

Art Room News

Art Smocks:

Foundation to Grade 2: All students need to provide an art smock. Please ensure the smock is labelled with their name. Art is a messy business, and occasionally stuff gets on their clothes. Most products are

labelled ‘washable’ but I am not always convinced of this from my own personal experience! It is a good idea to inspect clothes before putting them through a wash cycle and to perhaps do a soak with a stain remover.

Grades 3-6: I have a class set of aprons in the art room for students to use. Parents are welcome to provide an alternative smock if they wish.

Recycled Materials:

If you have items you think would be useful for an art room please drop them off in the morning.

NO PLASTICS PLEASE.

Here are some of the things I need this term:

Newspapers, Ice cream containers 2L or 4L (my only ,plastic exception!), Old pillows (for the stuffing), White cotton sheeting, Towels, Magazines, Small boxes, Cardboard cylinders.

Parent Helpers in the Art room– Foundation and Year 1 classes

I welcome parents into the art room to assist students, and help in the preparation/tidy up of materials. It gets quite hectic with the younger grades, and an extra set of hands is very helpful! No long term

commitment required – drop in basis is fine.
