Principal's Report

End of year activities...

End of Year Celebrations

It's great to see our staff & students, across all year levels, enjoying many extra-curricular activities at this time of the year.  It has been another challenging year for everyone, so it's great to see some positive activities being enjoyed by students with their peers.

  • Congratulations to our Year Six students in our graduating class of 2021!  They will celebrate together with a formal ceremony on our school site, next Monday 13th December.  We will share the scholarship winners at our Presentation Night, Wednesday 15th December, as well as hear their Graduation song.
  • Our Presentation Evening is Wednesday 15th December.  At 5:30pm we invite families onto our new oval to have a family picnic together, followed by the formal part of the evening, including class carols, from 6:00pm.

The final day of school for students is Thursday 16th December, with a 3:20pm dismissal.

2022 Start of year details

Staff resume from Friday 28th January.

Students' first day of 2022 is a full class (no testing days) on Monday 31st January.

Note: Foundation students do not attend each Wednesday of term one.

Transitions

Congratulations to students for successfully transitioning into their new classrooms yesterday, for half the day.

It was great to provide an opportunity for our students to sit inside their new classroom, with their new teacher for 2022, alongside their peers and friends.

Thank you to our parent / carer group, who have positively promoted the new beginnings, opportunities and relationships that present in this process.

Communications Survey - thank you!

Thank you to the numerous families who have taken the time and opportunity to provide important feedback to us around our communication.

We need your feedback and confirmation of what best works.  We hope to continue to improve our systems and processes to best serve our school and broader community.

2021/22 School Fees

A massive thanks to families who are financial for the 2021 school year.  As you're all aware, it is the parent contributions that make a good school great, and further support students to undertake schooling in an improved setting and with the resources they deserve.

You can't get a cheaper education!  Relative to pre-schools, kindergartens, secondary & tertiary settings, primary schools offer extremely affordable educational environments for your child's most important and formative years.

Our school council have set our 2022 school fees at $300.00 ($75.00 per term).  It is critical fees are paid early in a school year, for students to maximise the benefit.

The approved fees policy, is attached below and will be sent out early next year also.

2022 Specialists

We are extremely excited to have STEM, PE and Visual Arts continuing into 2022 as our three specialist areas of learning for students, on a weekly basis.

COVID-19 has impacted our programming significantly in the past two years, but I remain committed to the long-term plan of again seeing much of that programming resume, as soon as physically and financially possible.

I speak of programs such as International Exchanges, Performing Arts and our Kitchen Garden Program.  These were all visions of mine that we proudly enjoyed for a number of years, but in recent times haven't been possible.  We will continue working toward a planned return for them all...

Year Book

It's wonderful to see most of our school community purchasing Year Books.  Thanks to Mrs Bleicher for her coordination and all the wonderful input from staff and students in making it such a valuable memory and keep-sake.

I hope you all enjoy it, when it arrives!

I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
