Junior School

What a way to end my days at BMGS… with a great party with a jumping castle, water slides and pizza! What self-respecting primary principal could ask for more?

These last few weeks have been, and will continue to be, full of great memories and celebrations. And the memories I have forged over 15 years I will hold dear throughout my life. Being the Head of Junior School at Blue Mountains Grammar School has been a privilege and a pleasure (most of the time…) and I have made many friends amongst those in the community.

Mostly I will miss the children whose cheery interactions with me always brighten my mood. From the coolest dude in Y6 to the smallest person in Pre-K, I enjoy every minute I get to spend with the kids and that will be what I miss the most. To the parent community I want to express my deepest gratitude for your steadfast support over many years. Some of you have been the full 15-year journey with me as your children have grown. Others of you, we have only recently met. I hope you grow to love the school as much as I have.

So now this particular chapter in the ongoing history of BMGS and N Cockington closes, but an exciting new one awaits for both. I wish Mrs Newtown all the success and happiness as she moves into the headship, and I wish all of you – the community of my beloved school all the very best for the future, wherever that may lead you.

Goodbye. God Bless.

Mr Nigel Cockington
