VCE and VCAL Step Up to Year 12
The Year 12 Step Up Program will commence on Tuesday 23rd November and conclude with an Examination Review Interview for VCE students and an applied learning event for VCAL students on Friday 26th November.
The Step Up to Year 12 program is an important learning experience for our students, which aims to introduce students to the essential component of each subject in order to achieve success in year 12. As such,it is compulsory for all students to attend.
Students’ timetables for the week will appear as events on Compass in the week prior to Step Up. VCE students may have some ‘study times’ in their program. VCE teachers will be setting sufficient work for students to complete at home throughout December. Students are therefore required to be completing this work or planning a timetable for the completion of these holiday tasks. Students must use the library during this time.
The normal attendance requirements are applicable. If your child has a blank in their timetable at the beginning or end of the day, they are not required to be on-site but must sign in or out at the front office. Students may not leave the school grounds if their ‘study period’ is in period 2 or 3.
VCAL students should ensure they have sourced a work placement for 2022 before the end of Step Up. Signed Structured Workplace Learning Arrangement forms must be returned to College by this date. The first day of work placement will be Thursday 10th February providing all required documentation has been processed.
Both VCE and VCAL students must bring a charged laptop, an exercise book and general stationary to each class. No other books should be required unless specified by individual subject teachers.
We wish your child all the best for their final year of schooling,
VCE Exam Review Interview
On Friday 26th November all Year 11 VCE students are required to attend school for an Exam Review Interview with their Explore Teacher. This term, students have been preparing for exams by planning a timetable including effective examination study techniques. During the interview students will be expected to reflect on their performance and set goals for 2022. Parents are encouraged to attend.
Appointments are available to book on Compass until Monday 22nd November. After that date, appointments will be made for all remaining students.
