Thank you JPPC

A massive thank you to the Jells Park Parents Committee for their work in organising the Color Run for the school. The students had an absolute ball with the splashes of color and the various challenges and water slide. Additionally a significant amount of money was raised, somewhere around $15,000. This will be huge for the school.

It is amazing that we have such a hard working JPPC and a super supportive school community. 

Works in the School

School Council has approved the planned works to completely renovate the Level 3 classrooms. We will be gutting the buildings back to the shell and then upgrading all three classrooms into nicer and more functionable spaces. Work should start over the school holidays and we aim to be completed before the start of Term 2.

Through the State Government grants we have been approved for two Shade Sails, intended for use as outdoor classrooms. We will place one over the artificial grass hill in front of the BBQ area and the other will be over the grass area at the front of the school (by the library and the Memorial Birdbath). After the Color Run yesterday we are now in a position to consider seating under the Shade Sail - I will be involving students and the JPPC in the decision making about what this looks like!!

In further works news, we will also be re-carpeting the entire senior building over the holiday break. This will also cause huge upheaval, but the carpet desperately needs replacing.

Wont be doing in 2022

School Captains in 2022

Congratulations to Zane Van Schalkwyk and Ethan Maan on being selected by their peers as School Captains next year, and to Sophie Annett and Eddric Ng as Vice Captains. I have no doubt they will all represent the school with pride and dignity. They have a huge challenge to support the school in re-engaging students with their learning and the host of extra-curricular activities.

Sentral

As you would be aware Sentral is our student management system and is the primary source of communication from school to home. Staff emails to you, are generated through Sentral and not sent through a regular email account. This may mean for some families our emails end up in your junk folder, please check your junk regularly.

The office is also communicating messages through the Sentral Parent App. We are able to 'push' notifications to you via this app. If you don't have the app yet please look for it in your devices app store. If you are having trouble accessing Sentral please contact myself or the office and we can assist.
