From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Sacrament of Confirmation - Year Six

This Wednesday, many of our Year Six students will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, as they receive the third and final sacrament of initiation into the Catholic Church.  This is a significant and special time for these students and their families.  We welcome Fr Tony Kerin, Episcopal Vicar and alongside the newly appointed parish priest for Simon’s and St Jude’s, Fr Jerald Mariadas.

Thank you to the parents, teachers and leaders for preparing and supporting the children for this next step in their faith journey.

Canteen is back

Having the canteen back up and running last Friday was a delight.  As expected, a record number of orders were placed to celebrate the occasion.  Thank you to Jinny and Jason Robe for taking on the role of canteen coordinators, and to our wonderful canteen volunteers for last week, Emily, Jessica, Colleen, Leanne and Carly.

Please remember parents and family members can join the canteen roster at any time. To volunteer, you need to be available on a Friday during school hours, have a working with children check and complete a signed Child Safety Code of Conduct.

Please contact the office anytime if you want to join the roster.

Car park: Drop off and pick up routine

This Term, we have made some changes to strengthen further carpark safety at the busy times of the school day.  During morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, there is a designated section for students to alight to and from vehicles in the drive-thru pick-up lane.  Four hi-vis bollards temporarily mark out this area. A permanent solution using line markings on the pavement and signage has been arranged and will be implemented shortly.

Drivers picking up or dropping off students via the drive-through must continue to follow instructions from school staff during these busy times.

We have been monitoring the changes this Term and have been pleased with the results of increased safety.  Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.

Grandparents Day - Feast of St Anne and St Joachim

This Wednesday, 26th July, we will gather to celebrate the feast of St Anne and St Joachim, the parents of Mary, Jesus’ mother. We take this time to celebrate Grandparents in the lives of our families. The liturgy commences at 11:15am in the church, followed by light refreshments and classroom visits. The liturgy will be led by our Year One students.

A Child's Prayer for Grandparents

Dear God,  please bless my grandparents.
Thank you for the life they gave my parentsand for the life, they give to me.
For the ways they helped me and made me strong, I give thanks.
For the ways, they love me no matter what, I rejoice.
For the ways, they have paved the roadthat leads me here, I am grateful.
Let them grow in wisdom and joy in life.
Let them find peace and rest from their work.
Let them be healed of every sickness and pain.
And let them see with their own eyes your gloryand the love of their children and grandchildren.
Bless them always until they come to rest in you.

St Anne, pray for us.

St Joachim, pray for us.

Amen
