English: Learning Intention: To create persuasive texts that convince the reader.

 

Striving for excellence looks like:

  • Use a plan to organise arguments and reasons
  • Use thinking verbs
  • Use ‘because’ to support arguments
  • Use high modality words to show feelings

Charlotte used a plan to organise her arguments about why a ‘cat is the best pet’

 

 

Izyan composed a persuasive plan to organise his arguments about why a ‘cat is the best pet’

 

Janvi wrote a persuasive text that convinces readers that ‘dogs are the perfect pet’.  She used thinking verbs well, e.g. think, believe.   

Ayra composed a persuasive text that convinces readers that ‘hamsters are the perfect pet’.  She used high modality words when persuading, e.g. certainly, definitely.  

 

 

Visual Arts: Learning Intention: To appreciate artists and use their artwork as inspiration for our own.

 

Striving for excellence looks like:

  • Use the elements of art, e.g. colour, space, shape
  • Explore different art forms, e.g. painting,  
  • Create artworks inspired by artists
