It's the final countdown to the Student Disco!!
Thank you to the many families who have purchased tickets to the student disco on Saturday night. It is shaping up to be a fantastic event!
Huge thanks must go to Jess Fliegner (Mum of Max in Grade 1) and Will Armstrong (Dad of Harriet in Prep) who have worked tirelessly to bring it to fruition.
Below are some logistics and details to ensure the event runs as smoothly as the dance moves.
Drop off: Doors open for drop off at 4:45pm for the junior discos, and 6:20 for the senior disco. Entry to the Disco will be via the main entrance (see map below). All kids are to be marked off the attendance list by a parent volunteer before entering the main hall. If your child has an allergy or medical condition, can you please also write your child's name, allergy/medical condition, and a contact mobile on a wristband, which the volunteers will have on hand.
Pick up: When the Disco ends, please make your way through the side entrance (see map below) to collect your groovers. Once you find your child (they'll be grouped by class in the main hall), mark their presence off the attendance list with the parent volunteer. It may get a bit hectic so please be patient as we account for all the kids
Food and drinks: Icy Poles will be provided to all the kids, thanks to the generous support from Woolworths Metro Carnegie. We will also have a water station set up so the kids stay hydrated to keep those dancing feet moving!
Allergies and medical conditions: If your child requires medicine or an inhaler, please hand it to the First Aid Officer, stationed at the First Aid table in the main hall.
Photography: While parents and kids won't be able to take photos at the event, we've got an official photographer capturing all the magical moments! After the disco we'll make the digital photos accessible to CPS families
Chill zone: Sometimes dancers need a breather. That's why there will be a quiet space in the foyer for kids who need a break from the dance floor.
Any questions? Please call Jess on 0421 901 581 or Will on 0414 743 808

The PFA is looking for a Food Officer
As you know, the PFA is always busy organising fun events for our students, and raising funds to support important initiatives and resources for the school. We are incredibly grateful to the many parent volunteers who assist in a range of ways, and we’re always happy to have new helpers.
We are currently looking for a Food Officer. This person will support the PFA committee in ensuring that all food related activities and fundraising events (such as BBQs, sushi days etc) are lodged in the school’s FoodTrader Account. The account is set up and there are resources to refer to. Activities are lodged approximately once or twice per term.
If this sounds like something you could help with, please email us at pfa@carnegieps.vic.edu.au to let us know.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
