We will be adding a profile of our parent school councillors in this

year's newsletters so you can get to know them.

Hi everyone, welcome back to school and term 3!

My name is Chelsea Wallace, and I have been a member of the CPS school council for the past 2 years.

I joined the CPS community when my eldest, Sophie, started in Prep, which is 7 years ago now, as she is in Grade 6 this year. My husband Marcus and I also have two other kids - Elise in year 4 and Liam year 1.

After a few years of helping out with the PFA, I decided I wanted to be a bit more involved in the discussions and decisions with regards to our school, and ultimately, find ways to make it the best possible learning and working environment for students and staff, respectively. I believe this should be the ultimate goal for any school, and I think CPS do a a very good job at maintaining such high standards.

I have always been an inquisitive person, so following my science degree, I completed my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in biomedical research. My thesis focussed on the uterus, early pregnancy and endometriosis.

Handing i my thesis will always be my greatest academic achievement, and although I no longer work in research, I now use the skills gained during my candidature in my sales role. So just like the skills our kids learn at school now, will no doubt benefit them long term as well in their chosen career.

I really hope that I in-still in my kids (or any that will pretend to listen!), that learning new things at school can actually be really exciting, and that they are so lucky to have so many opportunities to learn and build their own knowledge library at school. This is especially true at CPS, where they are exposed to such a broad learning curriculum, fantastic facilities and an incredibly dedicated and hard working staffing team.

I am not around at school as often anymore, but if you would like to make contact my email is chelstoiks@hotmail.com

Happy Term 3!
