Principal's Reflection

Mr. Brad Vallance

Acting Principal

Red Cliffs Secondary College staff and students were provided with the opportunity to attend ‘The Resilience Project’ presentations by founder, Martin Heppell. The Resilience Project aims to teach positive mental health strategies to assist people to become happier, and more resilient. Through storytelling and behaviour-change communications, Martin shared practical and evidence-based strategies to manage wellbeing, both in the school environment, and with family and friends.

I have no doubt that both staff and students each took something positive away from the presentation and enjoyed the humour, wit, and insight that Martin presented.

Investiture Ceremony

This week Red Cliffs Secondary College are hosting our Annual Investiture Ceremony. The ceremony marks an important occasion to acknowledge those in various school leadership positions and recognise the importance of their role within our school, with badges and certificates presented to those students at the ceremony. The Annual Investiture Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 22nd February (this Wednesday) commencing at 2:30 pm and will conclude at 3:15 pm.

Uniform

It was great to see many of our students return in correct school uniform this week. However, it was disappointing to see some students not meeting the expected uniform standards, so I would like to clarify any confusion with the updated uniform policy for 2023. I ask all parents and guardians to support your children to ensure they are meeting the expected uniform standards in 2023.

  • Navy Blue or Black Shorts are permitted.  Shorts must not be shorter than mid-thigh and have any logos. Tights, bike shorts, football shorts are not acceptable.
  • Navy Blue or Black Skorts
  • Navy Blue or Black Track Pants
  • Plain Black Shoes
  • Black or White socks

Grey bottoms are now phased out and not accepted as part of our uniform policy in 2023. Parents and guardians will be contacted if students are out of uniform.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week as we approach the halfway mark of term 1 (already).
