Year 11 students have been very busy on Farm, with inductions complete, red licences being achieved, shearing training starting, weighing baconer's for market, sorting grain for seed cleaners, fixing water troughs, building a tank stand, building rails for farrowing crates and fixing hose reels for water pumps!

Year 12 students are very busy trying to complete observations out on Farm, with spreading gypsum, shearing, AI and ET stud ewes, AI pigs, weaning pigs, maintenance on automatic pig feeders, weighing cattle and sheep for feed trails, building dump buckets for the piggery and so much more. Year 12 students are currently working on their Sustainable Environmental Competency, with creating fun ways to promote sustainable practices that consider the three domains social, economic and environmental.

Sheep ET and AI Program

On Friday10 February 2023 we collected semen from our ram. Unfortunately, it wasn't good enough, so we used frozen semen that was collected from our previous Stud ram. The Vet artificially inseminated 8 PD ewes. On Thursday 16 February we collected 111 embryos from the ewes, and we transferred them into 65 SAMM ewes (most of them had got 2 embryos transferred into them).

Weekend Duty

Mrs Corsini would just like to thank all those students who have completed or nominated for their 2 weekend duties for this year. The rosters are complete and if you are unsure on what date you have been given, please get in contact with Mrs Corsini. Just a reminder that swapping weekend roster is strongly discouraged but in the event this situation arises, students must give a valid reason, two weeks’ notice to myself, and find another student to replace them. Students have access to the roster through daily notices, Farm noticeboard, College Chatter and via email and parents can access the information in the fortnightly College Chatter.
