Every week we are looking at ways to improve the boarding experience of our students. This week we have added music at breakfast, to set the vibe for the day.

We have town leave, basketball and netball games, themed dinners, set games and activities all weekend, just to name a few.  We also need to ensure study at prep time, washing of clothes, cleaning rooms, feeding and exercising horses is done. Life is very busy in boarding. Students also need down time, particularly as they are now at school and working in Trades, Class and on Farm from 8am to 4pm most days. We encourage proper rest and sleep patterns to ensure your students make the most of the two years here at our great College.

If you have any other suggestions, please don’t hesitate to ring me on 9635 2100 or if you are a student, put your suggestions into the suggestion boxes for the Student Councillors to bring to our fortnightly meetings.

We have had the great suggestion, that we inform parents and students of costs of weekend activities to ensure financial planning is in place prior to the event.  We have been working on budgeting with the students at present, as we have many students heading on our Friday trips to Northam and spending considerable amounts on snacks and sweets and then not have enough to go ice skating, if they wish the following day (for example). Please discuss weekend activities with your child and of course, if there are financial issues don’t hesitate to give me a call.

Thank you to those parents who have finalised all medical information in regard to your child. It is vital we have all information at hand to ensure we fulfil our Duty of Care.

This weekend, we have Ten Pin Bowling at Zone Bowling on Saturday in Joondalup which will be at a cost of $15.90 for 3 games. Of course, snacks and drinks are extra. On Sunday we are off to the Freo Markets, to wander around looking at crafts, eating yummy food from the market stalls and listening to the buskers. Spending money will be required for snacks and other purchases. We can pack lunches for anyone who wishes to save their money for crafts and other purchases.
