Swimming Sports

Our annual House Swimming Carnival will be held next week.

The event will be split over two days with the Year 7-9 students participating on Wednesday 15 February during periods 2-4 and our Year 10-12 students participating on Friday 17 February during periods 3-4.

Both days will be held at the Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre.

What should students wear?

Students are required to wear their PE uniform to school. Change room facilities are available for all students at the pool. Mobile phones are not permitted in toilets or change room facilities. Please note the pool has indicated that face paint, streamers, coloured hairspray or coloured zinc will not be permitted.

How will students get to and from the pool?

Students are required to make their own way to and from school as normal. Buses will transport students to and from the pool at the allocated time.

Students are not permitted to leave the pool surrounds during the carnival. Students requiring a leave pass as a necessity, MUST have organised this the day before with their House Leader. Students who do not have prior permission will return to school on the bus.

Will there be food available?

There will be a BBQ available for students to purchase sausages ($2) at the pool. The canteen at the pool will be open for limited snacks. Students are encouraged to bring enough food for their session. The school canteen will be open for recess for students to access.

We ask that parents refrain from supplying take away lunch to students at the pool so that we can support our BBQ which will be raising money for Caritas.

What if my child doesn't want to participate or is sick on that day?

We expect all students to attend and participate in this school event in support of their House and the school community. Community events such as these are a great way to develop community spirit, social cohesion, resilience and a feeling of belonging to our College and their House.

Students who do not attend the day due to illness are required to provide a medical certificate to their Learning Mentor, the day after the event.

Can parents attend?

We are thrilled to announce that parents will be able to attend this year and we look forward to welcoming you to our first major sporting event for the year! However please be aware that there will be limited seating in an allocated area.

If you have any questions please contact the school via your child's Learning Mentor.

We look forward to a fun, exciting and enjoyable day!
