Word Flyers has arrived! We are excited to implement WordFlyers, an interactive online literacy program designed for students in Years 7-10. This year the program will be implemented for students in Years 8 and 9. Year 9 started the program this term with Year 8 enrolling in Term 3.
WordFlyers provides tutorials and practice of literacy skills in grammar, reading comprehension, punctuation, vocabulary, spelling and writing. There are over 16 different reading levels and activities vary in complexity. Students are also able to further practice their skills by completing NAPLAN style tests. When work is completed students earn points which can be used to travel to different destinations around the world and play fun activities. CHAMP points are awarded for consistent use of the program and student progress.
WordFlyers is being used to complement English programs at the school and English teachers closely monitor student progress.
Students are able to access WordFlyers at home by simply going to student.wordflyers.com/login. Students then log in using the login and password provided by their English teacher.
What some Year 9 students say about WordFlyers :

Here's a comment from one of our teachers:
“My Year 9 class enjoy our WordFlyers periods. Looking at their results, students have improved, some over one level in the 7 weeks. Most of my class are motivated by the program rewards to achieve at a high level” Ms Wicks, English teacher
