Age Champions

Congratulations to the following students:

SPX / Riverview Carnival:  A great big thank you to everyone who helped out to host the final invitational carnival at ES Marks. We had a number of prefects organised by Jason Sacre of Year 11, Years 9 and 10 PASS students, coaching staff, teaching staff and parents all working together to run the event.

ISA:  At St Pius the focus on athletic performance is striving to improve personal best times, heights and distances. Athletes compete against themselves to improve. Hard work at training, listening to advice from coaches and competing is rewarded by improvement. It was this approach that our athletes applied successfully throughout the season and then took into the ISA Championship.  The team effort enabled us to finish with the following results:

ISA Results : Boys Division 1

  • Junior Shield - 6th
  • Intermediate Shield SPX - 2nd
  • Senior Shield SPX - 1st
  • Aggregate Trophy - 2nd

Next year I would like to encourage more students to get involved, whilst the ISA team is selected, the training and participation in Invitational carnivals is open to everyone.  We are very fortunate to have an extremely talented group of coaches that work with our athletes:  Will Richardson, Sam Richardson, Izzy Thorton-Bott, David Hudson, Maria Cimino and Ron Bendal. They pass on their experience and knowledge in a supportive and motivating manner. I know the boys they have coached are very grateful and appreciative of their efforts.

I would like to personally thank Sally Richardson who for over 10 years  has helped out at carnivals, organised training, coaches and created our school link with UTS/Norths Athletics Club.

Athletes Selected to Represent the ISA at CIS:  James Brown, Thomas Hunt, Alex Bain, Michael Fakoury,  Kalani Lenehan, Stuart Dingley, Lachlan Mathie, Daniel Hall, James Hunt, Dominic Panozzo, Connor Ryan, Ben Ferguson, Zac Flynn, Simon Magner and Ben O’Reilly.

Team Captain for 2018:  Daniel Hall
