St James CAKE STALL
Saturday 27th October
On behalf of the St James Parents Association, Jane Kanizay and I wish to thank all who so generously baked/delivered/sold the beautiful array of home-made goodies for last Saturday's Moorabbin Bunnings Cake Stall. We sold out by 2pm and made $520 to go back into our lovely school!
Again the community spirit at our school shone through - even the students loved the experience. Next year we will participate in the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle stand - so please 'Save The Date': Saturday 16 March and be part of the team in raising money for our new building.

RIVER NILE SCHOOL MOVIE NIGHT
Hello everyone,
I’d love to invite you all to an upcoming Movie Night.
I currently volunteer as a tutor and on the board of the River Nile School for refugee and asylum seeker women.
RIVER NILE SCHOOL MOVIE NIGHT
River Nile School brings you this special fundraiser and Q&A screening of The Baulkham Hills African Ladies Troupe.
We aim to raise funds and especially raise awareness of the educational benefits for refugee and asylum seeker women.
The River Nile School (RNS) is an independent senior VCAL school for young women – a safe and trusting place.
RNS offers full time programs delivering VCAL curriculum to re-engage Refugee and Asylum Seeker school aged women who have had disrupted schooling or who are struggling to cope.
RNS is a fee-free independent school, offering free childcare, free travel and free welfare to students.
You can find out more at www.rivernileschool.vic.edu.au
THE BAULKHAM HILLS AFRICAN LADIES TROUPE is a celebration of the remarkable spirits of four African women survivors of sexual abuse, and the triumph of their improbable theatre troupe.
Four women fled from different parts of Africa to Australia in order to escape violence and abuse. They find a safe haven in Australia, but still they hold their pain silently within them. Until they decide to join a theatre group… and speak out. Under the nurturing guidance of theatre director Ros Horin, they collaborate to let their life stories be transformed into an extraordinary and joyously uplifting theatrical experience. This film charts their personal journeys from trauma to healing and public triumphs, as the Troupe’s show moves from a stage in western Sydney out to the world.

SCHOOL BANKING
The Commonwealth School Banking program has arrived at St James Catholic Primary School to help our children develop strong financial literacy skills, plus earn some extra benefits for our school.
School Banking Day is every THURSDAY
Students are to bring their yellow bank books in each THURSDAY and put them in the banking bag in their classroom. The bag will then be collected by one of our banking volunteers. Once the banking is processed the banking bag will be sent back to the class for bank books to be returned to students.
If you are interested in getting involved, please read the attached.
