(Grade 4 with Palaygo)
This term, Grade 4 students started using Palaygo, which is a web based language learning and communication program that has connected over 20,000 users in Australia and Japan. The program connects users from both countries and allows them to exchange messages.
Palaygo provides opportunities for children to practice their communication skills, and increases their interest and motivation for learning Japanese language and culture.
The program allows students to log in and use Palaygo at any time. Some students have sent emails to their Japanese friends at home.
Kids from other countries can email Japanese children when using Palago. I have learnt so much about Japan and how they live while I have been doing Palaygo. It is also really fun to talk to Japanese students. It was really interesting to find out how they live and what their schools are like. A lot of kids ask how we celebrate Halloween and what we like. They live a really different life to us. I have made so many friends and Palaygo is really fun and I would love to learn a lot more about it.

I like Palaygo and I do it after school. It is good to make new friends from different parts of the world. And the best thing is that I am not good at Japanese but I can still use it.

In Japanese, we are learning to do messaging with the Japanese people in Japan.
We can do so many things on palaygo such as messaging and finding new friends.
This is an opportunity for us to see what life Japanese people have and talk about it.
