Today we had a special visit from our Deputy Premier, Minister for Education & Minister for Emergency Services, James Merlino MP.

We held a special whole school assembly at 9:30 where Minister Merlino

announced a $17.1 Million new school to follow the $4.5 Million planning and land acquisition commitment already underway.

It is extremely exciting news with the pledge containing details around all new classrooms and vital school / community shared infrastructure around a new

competition grade gymnasium and oval.

Our Capital Works working team will soon enter phase 2 of the project.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our school community for their

continued support and drive in supporting this project.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN results were released yesterday, however schools don’t gain access to results until tomorrow.  Student individual results will be forwarded home once they are received at school and processed.

Please keep in mind, NAPLAN testing is not diagnostic nor necessarily reflective of your child’s ability or inability to perform academically.  It is merely one indicator, taken on one day at one particular point in time.

Staff use the data as a tool to further inform their own formative & summative

assessments, as well as opinions formed via the human understandings taken from their countless daily interactions they have with students.

What NAPLAN does do, is inform us of trends and statewide data to compare similar or ‘like’ schools to support the government and their distribution of resources

STUDENT INTERIM REPORTS & STUDENT LED CONFERENCES

In week 10 on Tuesday 18 September, our term three Student Interim Reports will be shared with parents at our student led conferences.

Conferences will be offered between 12noon & 7pm for 10mins each.

The school interviews link will be open from next Wednesday for families to book your preferred times to have valuable catch up chats with teaching staff
